But what about the building codes in California? The examples he is giving are unsafe building where there aren’t strict builing codes. Are you supposed to do the same thing in a building that won’t collapse right away? You’re most likely to get hit by falling lamps by using the Triangle of Life method. Help?

Thanks for video – after 7.2 quake today in Souther California – Mexicali / Calexico, my instincts on where to go during it were wrong. Door frame, absolute worst – next to a strong sturdy object (but NOT underneath it) – best ! This demonstrates well the reasoning for the Triangle of Life. All those drills we had in grade school — wow, what a bad idea under the desk was !
