Stress Management – How To Cope With Stress
Identifying stress and being aware of its effect on our lives is not enough for reducing its harmful effects. Just as there are many sources of stress, there are many possibilities to manage it. But it requires work toward relief: change the source of stress and change your reaction to it.
Here’s how it works.
1.Reccognise your stressors and your emotional and physical reactions.
Be aware of your distress. Don’t ignore it. Don’t gloss over your problems. Determine what distresses you. What are you telling yourself about what those stressors means? Determine how your body responds to the stress. Do you become nervous or physically upset? If so,in what specific ways?
2. What can you change?
Can you change your stressors by avoiding or eliminating them completely?
Can you reduce their intensity (manage them over a period of time instead of on a daily or weekly basis)? Can you reduce your exposure to stress (take a break, leave the physical premises)? Can you take the time and energy necessary to making a change (goal setting, time management techniques, and delayed gratification strategies may be helpful here)?
3.Your emotions will determine the way you react.
Your stress reaction is caused by your perception of danger…physical danger and/or emotional danger. Do you view your stressors in an exaggerated way and/or taking a difficult situation and making it a disaster?
Do you expect to please everyone?
Are you overreacting and seeing things as totally critical and urgent? Do you feel you must always prevail in every situation?
Try to adopt more moderate views; try to see the stress as something you can cope with rather than something that overpowers you.
Try to moderate your excess emotions. Put the situation in perspective. Do not dwell on the negative aspects and the “what if’s.”
4. How to control your physical reactions to stress.
Slow, deep breaths will bring your heart rate and respiration back to normal.
Relaxation techniques can reduce muscle tension. Medications, when prescribed by a physician, can help in the short term. However, they alone are not the answer.Learning to moderate these reactions on your own is a preferable long-term solution.
5. How to build your physical reserves.
Exercise for cardiovascular fitness three to four times a week (moderate, prolonged rhythmic exercise is best, such as walking, swimming, cycling, or jogging).
Eat well-balanced, nutritious meals.
Keep your ideal weight.
Stay away from nicotine, excessive caffeine, and other stimulants.
Mix pleasure with work. Take breaks and get away when you can.
Get enough sleep. Be as regular with your sleep schedule as possible.
6. Reinforce your emotional reserves.
Develop some supportive friendships/relationships.
Reach for realistic goals which are meaningful to you, rather than goals others have for you that you do not share.
Expect some frustrations, failures, and sorrows.
Always be kind and gentle with yourself — be a friend to yourself.

Get Your Ex Back Now – 6 Tips
Get Your Ex Back Now – 6 Tips
Pulling your life back together after a rough breakup can be difficult to say the least. You know you want her back, but you don’t know if she’s willing to give it another try. Finding help to get through this can be really tough, but things are about to get a bit easier. Here are 6 valuable tips for you to consider when setting out to get her back.
1) At first you’ll think this is ridiculous, but the best way to start off a breakup is actually to go with it. Separate from each other with a clean break, and let her go the way she wants to go. Cut off contact entirely with her, and it’ll actually make coming back together later a lot easier. There are a lot of reasons for this, but I won’t bore you by going into all of them right now.
2) Movies are NOT realistic, and trying to deal with your problems like you see in the movies will not work. Instead of staying at home allowing yourself to slip into a destructive depression, motivate yourself to take matters into your own hands. Hoping friends will come to your rescue or that your ex will magically call you up out of the blue to take you back won’t get you anywhere. Be proactive…you want her back, you take the steps necessary to get her back.
3) Friends may not solve your problems for you, but they can make them easier to bear. Surround yourself with your closest family and friends, their support will do you a lot of good. Don’t burden them with too much relationship talk, but just being with people who care about you will give you a boost to your confidence and help you get through the roughest patches of breakup pain.
4) Now is the time for action, but before you start working in the outside world to get your ex back you’ll have to take care of things on the home front. Make sure you keep yourself together during this tough time, letting yourself go can make it ever harder to get what you want. Respect yourself, and keep yourself in as good of shape as you can. Eat well, practice good hygiene, and exercise. A healthy body will handle this stress better, as well as be more appealing to your ex when you go for getting her back.
5) Don’t ever forget that this is your battle to win. You can’t rely on anyone else in your plan to get your ex back. Don’t assume your ex will change in any way, because she won’t. You have to be the one who changes, as hard as that may be to accept. If the changes you’d have to make to yourself to win her back are too much to take, then you may also have to accept that you’re probably not right for each other. Make necessary sacrifices, but always be aware of just how much you are sacrificing…if you feel it’s too much to ask of a person, then it may be.
6) Getting back together isn’t the end of your efforts, there is a hefty amount of upkeep you’ll have to manage. Just because this disaster was resolved doesn’t mean it can’t flare up again, so whatever you changed to get her back you have to keep it changed. Sliding back into the “old relationship” will make it head the same way as it did before…and nobody has unlimited chances to pull it back together. Win your ex back, and keep her.
If you pay close attention to what I’ve told you today, you’ll find that this entire ordeal is a lot easier. This time is never a complete breeze, but if you know what you’re doing you’ll get through it in a lot better shape than if you tried to “wing it.” Form a plan, stick to it, and never forget these 6 tips to get your ex back.

Where would someone suggest that I look for a job doing disaster relief?
I am a senior in college and feel God calling me to a ministry in disaster relief. I am having trouble finding an organazation that will pay someone for anything besides office work. I want to be right in the middle of helping people. Does anyone have any suggestion about where to look? I didn’t know what category to put this question in.
Figure out exactly what it is you want to do in disaster relief and then research who best provides that service.
The Red Cross
The Federal Emergency Management Agency
and many other private agencies do this kind of work.

Surplus Camping Gear Shopping
If you do not mind warehouses, you are more than welcome to go surplus camping gear shopping. These warehouses might be part of the military, and could be filled with any type of camping gear, that is sold at great prices because all of the items are surplus camping gear shopping items that are taking up space that could serve the greater good in some other way.
The surplus camping gear shopping opportunities might lead you to row upon row of backpacks, rain gear, and you might even find a good winter parka that will come in quite handy when you are deep in the forest in the dead of winter. Most of the surplus items are in very good condition, considering their age. You see, the military likes to hold on to the items that they purchase for as long as possible, because you never know when a winter parka might prove useful.
Other surplus camping gear shopping opportunities could help people stricken by the destructive power found in hurricanes. These surplus items could be electric generators that have never been used, because their size was so immense, nobody had a use for them, until now. That large electric generator found while surplus camping gear shopping will provide power to a city that desperately needs it.
The rain gear you found while surplus camping gear shopping will prove quite useful to the people that no longer have a roof over their head. The rain gear might be olive green, and cling to the body like as second layer of skin, but at least the people that are wearing them will be dry and comfortable. Surplus items abound in these large warehouses, and there are treasures around every corner.
Governmental emergency management teams will periodically go on surplus camping gear shopping trips because they are in dire need of supplies to help people that are left homeless by a disaster. These surplus camping gear shopping trips allow these disaster relief agencies to purchase thousands of obsolete, yet functional recreational tents, and recreational vehicles.
These surplus items will not only save the government millions of dollars in disaster relief funds that can be used elsewhere, but they may just provide the necessary shelter for people that no longer have their homes, because they are not livable. The various tools that are found in great abundance on surplus camping gear shopping trips might be slightly rusted or bent, but can quite possibly help those in need, with removing tons of mud that has entered their homes because their city flooded.
The surplus camping gear shopping opportunities available in each city across the United States can be pooled together to help anyone have a better life. When people are down on their luck, any type of helping hand is appreciated, and government surplus is most kindly welcomed. The surplus camping gear shopping trips certainly turned up hundreds of thousands of meals, ready-to-eat with just a bit of boiling water, that came in very handy to people that did not have a home to cook in when the Hurricane named Katrina hit.

Opening Ceremony for HODR’s 1st School in Haiti
http://www.HODR.org
Hands on Disaster Response, with the help of the Sri Lankan army, the Mayor’s Office, members of the community (adults and children), and the local and international volunteers, constructed the first of many transitional schools planned for Haiti. The school was completed in June 2010 and marked by a special ceremony. Many members of the community showed up to see the school and many of the volunteers that put their time into building and painting came to thank the community for their support.

Could I join the Red Cross and go overseas? For disaster relief?
I want to go overseas, somewhere like Africa, where I can help. I’m only 19 years old,I don’t have any training, but if I joined the Red Cross, would there be any way they could send me overseas to help out?
I know it would humble me to go somewhere third world,it would satisfy my need to travel and my want to help more people.
Are you guys mocking me?I’m serious,I want to do this.
The Red Cross is not what it use to be . They are more about money than the charity work now . There are other companies that go over seas and do good works it is just a matter of finding who will take you and keep you out of harms way.
