What are your thoughts about eliminating disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis and tornadoes?

I am talking about in the distant future if we have the ability.

Would be wonderful if we have the power to get rid of natural disasters? In other words, to not be in the mercy of nature’s disasters.

It amazes me to see that man is so arrogant that he thinks he can control something that has existed for 4.55 billion years.

Man tries to control nature, and while he may succeed for a bit, he always loses in the end.

Dams break, rivers flood, buildings collapse, land is destroyed.

How would you respond differently to the two types of disasters?

Rapid-onset disasters- occur suddenly with little warning, taking the lives of people and destroying the means of production. Rapid-onset disasters may be caused by earthquakes, floods, storm winds, tornadoes, or mud flows. Slow-onset disasters occur over time and gradually degrade the capacity of any organization to withstand their effects. Hazards causing these disaster conditions typically include droughts, famines, environmental degradation, desertification, deforestation, and pest infestation.

Fast onset disaster … Run like heck.

Slow onset disaster … Run like a sloth.
